La Droguerie du Marais

Et voilà my favorite crêperie in town: La Droguerie du Marais at Rue de Rosiers! It’s a cute little place, literally a hole on the wall, from where you can watch the nice attendants perfectly executing all kind of salty and sweet crêpes to go. If you are lucky enough to find an avaliable seat at the counter, go for it and watch the preparation!

I’m aware of the top crêperies list, but I believe there are more ingredients than the food itself to be considered in this case. How we feel and how we are treated may be just as important. And I always feel very welcome at this cozy place.

It’s always a pleasure to have crêpes with thé à la menthe (mint tea) while practicing my (poor) French with the nice guys who work here! There can be a considerable line, but it´s worth the wait!

Café Marly is nestled under the arcades of Louvre Museum and it is set in a typical Parisian atmosphere, with sumptuous decor that reminds us of Louvre as a royal residence. with its Napoleon III dining rooms and a beautiful terrace overlooking the Cour Napoléon (the museum courtyard).

Don’t be surprised if you bump into any famous! Models, fashion designers and journalists are often seen here. The terrace is ideal for an after-Louvre break! Enjoy a cup of coffee and the stunning view of the Pyramid!

June 2016: UEFA Euro and David Guetta

8 de March de 2016 — by Carol Pio Pedro0

June is usually a busy month in Paris, but this year will be particularly intense!

Football fanatics already know that UEFA Euro 2016 will be held in France from June 10th to July 10th. The matches will be played in ten cities: Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse.

It will be a great opportunity to watch the best teams in Europe compete! The opening match will take place at the famous Stade de France in Saint-Denis (city next to Paris), between France and Romania. Check the schedule and ticket availability here.

A Fan Zone will be located at Champ de Mars and will be open until midnight on all game days! There will be a stage for concerts, a village for the UEFA sponsors, food stalls, giant screens to watch the games and entertainment in the secure enclosure.

A great attraction promises to shake up the city! The famous French DJ David Guetta is the tournament’s music ambassador. He was assigned to compose the official music and will promote a free concert on June 9th at the foot of the Eiffel Tower! The attraction promises to gather thousands of people!

If you are planning on riding the Eiffel Tower on the 9th, be aware that it will be closing at 4pm, according to its official site. I advise you to avoid the ride on this day if you can.

For those, like me, who will be attending the show: pay attention to your belongings, take with you only the necessary items! I’m sure the security will be very high, but better safe than sorry! Other than that? Enjoy!

  • Where: Champ de Mars
  • Address: Quai Branly – Avenue de la Motte Picquet, Paris, 75007
  • When: June 9th 2016
  • Metro: École Militaire – line 8 and Bir-Hakeim – line 6

Bisous :)
